What's Happening at the Library?

Indiana Bedrock

Discover a new photographic collection of Monroe County's early limestone artists, craftsmen, and workers, placed in a context that is meaningful, memorable, and accessible to all.

The lack of literature about the stone is understandable in that the people who might be expecting to write about it were busy producing, sawing, planing, and carving it. Limestone people are by nature entrepreneurial. Their tendency is to produce a product, and let someone else write about it. -- Bill McDonald, A Short History of Indiana Limestone
