The library is asking the County Council for approval of its 2009 Capital Projects Fund Proposal to:

Complete the Children's Room addition at Ellettsville Branch
Reconfigure checkout and AV areas at Main Library to manage growth in:
- DVD and music CD use (more than 47% of library circulation)
- self-checkout of materials (already 10% of library checkouts)
Upgrade library computers and CATS equipment to stay up-to-date

The County Council must vote on the library's request by July 31, 2008

77% of respondents to the Library's 2008 Community Survey [PDF] rated the library as extremely important to the future of the community.

The library's Capital Projects Fund is an investment in our community's future. MCPL's request is for an additional $7.09 per $100,000 assessed valuation.
