Organic Vegetable Garden - Feeding the Hungry
Grow food for Mother Hubbard's Cupboard food pantry
Do you have a green thumb? The Monroe County Public Library is looking for volunteers to help plant and maintain an organic community garden in one of our plots on 6th street.
All food grown at this site will be donated to Mother Hubbard's Cupboard, a Bloomington community food pantry.
We are also interested in small donations of tomato, basil, squash, eggplant, zucchini, beets, kale, peas, lettuce, radish, carrots, cabbage, pepper, okra, swiss chard, collards, dill, onions, spinach, parsley, cilantro, nasturtium, calendula, echinacea, amaranth, coxcomb, sunflower, zinnia, snapdragon, and other native flower starts
Children's Courtyard Gardening Program
For junior gardeners, ages 7-12, there is a Courtyard Gardening Program this season. The Children's Department is creating a garden just for children.
