Take the Silk Road Tour with professor James Min-Ching Yang.

Join him as he re-creates an eleven-day tour of this famous road through China - by train, bus, and camel.

His presentation and video encompass every facet of a trip that highlights the fascinating people and places in a unique and remote corner of the world.

The Silk Road, traveled since 200 B.C. by famous people such as Marco Polo, was the main artery for the cultural and commercial exchanges between Western and Eastern civilizations.

Note: This program precedes Bloomington's 14th Annual Silk Road Bayram (Festival) scheduled July 30. The Festival includes handcrafts displays, musical performances, dance, and lectures. Each visual art and performance spotlights important aspects of life along the Silk Road. Festival events are sponsored by the Silk Road Ensemble (www.silkroadensemble.com) and are free and open to the public.

All library programs, performances, and classes are FREE and open to the public.
