Free Tax Help, 2010

Volunteers will help ELDERLY and LOW to MODERATE INCOME residents fill out and file their state and federal income taxes.

If you know someone who is eligible, please help us spread the word.

Volunteers will also assist residents who are eligible to receive tax refunds from the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The EITC can result in a significant income boost — up to $5,657 for those who qualify! Working families with incomes below $48,279 and childless workers with incomes under $18,440 often qualify.

IRS Trained volunteers will offer assistance to low income families / individuals and the elderly
during February, March, and early April.

Doing your own taxes? Use the Library's Tax Forms and Information Page to locate local IRS and state revenue/tax offices, addresses, and phone numbers as well as official state and federal forms online.

Tax Help at the MAIN LIBRARY, 303 E. Kirkwood Ave., Bloomington.
Service at the library site is coordinated by the local AARP Tax Aide Program.

Help is offered on a first-come basis - appointments are not available.
Sign-in at the door begins a half-hour prior to service.
Only those present may sign in.

Social Security cards and birthdates for self, spouse, and dependents
All W-2's, W-2G's and 1099's related to income received during the year
If filing jointly, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms

Additional Information That May Be Required

If claiming child and dependent care expenses, the name, address, and social security number or EIN (employer's identification number) of the provider
If claiming the Indiana Renter's Deduction the name, address, and phone number of the landlord
Any tax booklets received
A copy of last year's tax return
For direct deposit of your refund, you must provide bank account and routing numbers
All 1098's related to interest on student loans
Out of pocket educational expenses for college
Any donations to Indiana colleges

Tarjetas de Seguro Social (o su ITIN Numero de Identificación Personal del Contribuyente) y fechas de nacimiento para el/la pagador/a de impuestos, su cónyuge y dependientes.
Toda forma de impuesto W-2, W-2G y 1099 relacionada a los ingresos recibidos durante el año.
Si presentará una declaración conjunta, ambos cónyuges deben estar presentes para firmar las formas requeridas.

Información adicional que puede ser requerida:

Si reclamará gastos por el cuido de un hijo y dependiente, el nombre, la dirección y el número de seguro social o EIN (número de identificación de empleador) del proveedor.
