Bookstore Clearance Sale

The next Bookstore Clearance Sale will be held at the Ellettsville Branch of Monroe County Public Library Friday, May 9 through Monday, May 12. Please share the news about our great book sale with your friends, co-workers, and neighbors. People are always thrilled to learn of this wonderful opportunity to pick up excellent books at amazingly low prices.

Of course, regular prices at the Friends Bookstore are already quite a bargain. Shop every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday beginning at 11 am.

Dine Out for the Library!

Your dining out has brought in over $4,500 for the library! Thank you for enjoying all that great food! Your next opportunity to dine out with the Friends is on Wednesday, May 14 from 11 a.m.-close at either Bloomington Bucceto's location. Show your flier and the Bucceto's will donate 20% of what you spend to the library. Dine in or carry out, your meal will taste even better knowing you’re contributing to an award-winning library for all in the community.

Make plans to get together with friends for some fun while you dine and donate to the library!

Coffee with Friends

Join us for Coffee with Friends with Derek Richey and Jennifer Sommer-Richey, founders of the Bloomington Fading Project, and authors of Bloomington THEN & NOW. This free public event will take place on Thursday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 1B, 1st floor, Main Library. Bloomington Then & Now is a book of photos and notes showing historical pictures of various buildings around Bloomington and what they currently look like today. Using side-by-side and super-imposed photographs, the book was written to show the evolution of the Bloomington landscape over the past 100 years.

Your gifts to the 2013 Campaign for Excellence raised $42,926 to help create a special place for babies and caregivers in the Learn and Play Space, introduce digital creativity tools to children and families, support Math Homework Help, and invest in digital content to support school assignments.
