bookstore changes beginning in january

Patrons of the Friends of the Library Bookstore can expect several changes beginning in January.

Charging state sales tax. The State of Indiana requires that we pay 7% sales tax on all purchases. Until now we have not charged patrons this tax, but beginning January 2010, the sales tax will be added to each sale.

Increasing some prices. Beginning January 2010, the following prices will go into effect:

 

MCPL Depends on its Friends!

In these hard times, the support provided to the library by the Friends assumes an increasingly important role. And, as you might expect, the Friends of the Library Bookstore is the primary source of income for the Friends.

Last year, a $102,000 grant from the Friends of the Library helped support

The Bookstore is still a bargain

We offer a wide range of high quality books. Prices are comparable to local thrift stores and are more than competitive with used bookstores. Most importantly, these changes will enable us to provide even greater support to our award-winning library!
