The four of us are writing to you to make sure that the children in our community continue to have the world opened to them through the books and storytimes of Monroe County Public Library.

Photo: MCPL children's program A mom brought her 8-year-old son to ARF! Animal Reading Friends. He had been struggling with reading at school. When she returned to pick him up, she found him reading smoothly to a very appreciative dog.

"Thank you so much. I work with one-year-olds, and was having a terrible time sharing books with them. Dialogic reading, flannel stories, puppets -- it turns out there are lots of ways to share stories with busy babies and toddlers."
