Celebrate the Red, White, and Blue!

Friends! It's time to show your loyalty to one of the most democratic institutions in this great country of ours—THE PUBLIC LIBRARY. Join Monroe County Public Library and the Friends in the gala 4th of July Parade in downtown Bloomington to salute our wonderful Library. Thousands of people will get their first view of the Library's new Book Bike which was made possible by the generous donation to the Friends from Carol R. Nicholas.

2012 Fourth of July ParadeWe will meet at our staging area near the start of the parade route, exact location to be announced later, but somewhere around 4th St or Kirkwood near Indiana Avenue between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m.—parade begins at 10:00. You are welcome to wear your favorite patriotic outfit, or sport the Red, White, and Blue, or your Friends of the Library tee shirt. One adult is required to accompany each child under age 6.

ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE PARADE ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE WAIVER FORM — ONE SIGNATURE PER PERSON — No one can be in the parade unless the form is submitted as per the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, sponsors of the parade.

Please return the waiver form to the Friends office. There is a form that you can sign2012 Fourth of July Parade on the door of the Friends of the Library office (MCPL 3rd floor) as well. Someone will check you in at the start of the parade — no one can sign up on site.
