The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable natural resources - our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

Turning Point is a Bible based church. What that means is we seek to believe and practice what is taught in the Bible. We believe and teach that there is only one God. That God has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that is, the One God manifested in and through an authentic human life. The fullness of the godhead dwells in Jesus bodily. To see Jesus is to see God. We teach that the gospel is the good news that Jesus lived a perfect life, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again three days later. We express our belief in the gospel through our obedience to the gospel. We obey the gospel and apply it to our lives by repenting of our sins (death to sin), being baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection) with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues.
Twenty-first Century Scholars' mission is to increase high school and college graduation rates among moderate to low-income students living in the state of Indiana. Income-eligible 7th- and 8th-graders that enroll in the program and fulfill a pledge of good citizenship to the state are guaranteed the cost of four years of college tuition at any participating public college or university in Indiana. The Twenty-first Century Scholars award can be applied to an eligible public, private, technical, or proprietary school in Indiana.

United Way of South Central Indiana improves people’s lives by working to address our community’s most pressing needs. They bring together expertise, funding, and volunteer support to positively impact the resilience of our community, and those who live within it. In partnership with others, they work to eliminate inequities experienced by low-income and diverse populations so that all people have a safe, healthy home environment, achieve their educational potential, and increase their financial stability. They commit to building bridges across cultural, racial, religious, and economic boundaries. They create and sustain solutions to the most pressing issues in Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Monroe, Orange and Owen counties.
In September 2023, United Way of Monroe County and United Way of South Central Indiana announced that these two organizations have united as one, joining forces to combine their unique abilities, partnerships, and histories to bring new opportunities to the region. Merging creates operational efficiencies, ensuring greater impact while maintaining a strong local presence within each distinct community that makes up the south-central region.

The University Club is for all faculty, staff, alumni, and interested community members. Members share a common bond: Indiana University. The University Faculty Council consists of an elected body of members responsible for exercising faculty authority for the Indiana University System. Faculty governance at Indiana University has a unique history. We invite you to involve yourself in faculty governance at IU by attending our meetings, reading the minutes from meetings, and voting in council elections. At a tea held in the home of Mrs. H. A. Hoffman on Thursday, April 24, 1913, a social organization of Indiana University faculty women, wives and teachers was proposed. Forty five women were present and after discussion, agreement was reached to send invitations to all eligible women; to hold eight meetings a year; to pay dues and to serve refreshments; and to have an executive committee to direct the organization.
Welcome to the Uplands Network! As part of the state Hoosier Chapter of Sierra Club, we gather environmental supporters to form a local outings group. Activities include regular outings and monthly meetings with topics of interest. We partner with established environmental groups in the area to protect, preserve, and explore together.
What We Do: We provide safe experiences in nature for everyone while working to preserve the natural areas around us. You do not need to be a member of Sierra Club to join our outings/events.
