Have you heard about Libraries of Things? From cooking appliances to musical instruments—and even to plant seeds and laptops—libraries around the world are lending all kinds of different items beyond traditional collections of books, movies, and music. If people want it, the philosophy seems to be, libraries should lend it.
We're no exception, of course—Monroe County Public Library has our own awesome collection of "things" for checkout. Borrow these on your next visit.
The newest addition to our Library of Things, Ukulele Kits are made possible by a generous contribution by the Bloomington Ukulele Club, which meets here at the Library 1–3 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of the month. Ukulele Kits are kept in Level Up at the Main Library and include a tuner, an information sheet, and a chord chart so you can start learning. There’s even a course on Lynda.com for you to learn the fundamentals of playing the ukulele. Sign up for a free Lynda.com account with your library card
