ImageI Was Here is the newest book from Gayle Forman, the author of If I Stay. This story follows Cody, a recent high school graduate who is stuck in her small town, cleaning houses, and attending community college. Her life has always revolved around her best friend, Meg. Meg, who's family is Cody's family. Meg, who has moved far away for school. Meg, who has just committed suicide.

Cody is left adrift without Meg and determined to find out what caused her vibrant friend to decide to end her life. With the help of the moody, but ridiculously handsome musician who broke Meg's heart and a rag tag group of people who never really got to know her, but always wanted to, Cody delves deep into an online secret life that she never knew Meg had. In the end, even if she finds the reasons why, she knows nothing will bring her friend back and she'll have to find a way to live without her.

This book is a sensitive portrayal of the aftermath of suicide and what happens to those left behind. Cody is a believable protagonist who readers will feel drawn to. Readers who enjoyed Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher or Gayle Forman's other novels (which are all excellent) will be captivated by I Was Here.

Happy Reading!
