Donate Food, Waive Your Fees

Hunger Action Month Donations Accepted September 17–26

For tens of millions of people in America, a daily meal isn’t a choice between different dishes. It’s a choice between food and other crucial needs—like medicine, electricity, or childcare. This September choose to take a stand against hunger in your community for Hunger Action Month! Non-perishable donations will be accepted at the Downtown Library and Ellettsville Branch between September 17 and 26.

Last year, Hoosier Hills Food Bank distributed over 7 million pounds of food across Brown, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange, and Owen counties, a +40% difference from 2019. The food bank is a nonprofit organization that relies heavily on donations to help meet the needs of those experiencing hunger in our community.

Waive Your Fees

Just as good as helping others, for every one item you donate, we'll forgive $1.00 of any fees you owe the Library! Simply bring your non-perishable donations to any customer assistance desk at the Downtown Library or Ellettsville Branch and request that your fees be waived! Please note that this program applies to replacement fees––we don't charge late fines

No fees? No problem! Your donation is still welcome!
