PRIDEFEST at the Library!

It's August, which here in Bloomington means it's time for PRIDEFEST, Bloomington PRIDE's fifth annual street festival celebrating LGBTQ+ culture and community!

In partnership with PRIDE, the Library will present a series of community education workshops on August 25, including Sexuality and Gender: A Family-Friendly Intro for Youngsters, from 12:15–1:15 PM in Meeting Room 2A. Speakers from Prism Youth Community's Education and Training Committee will use hands-on activities and games to explore different sexual orientations and gender identities. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children, ages 9–12. Interested in PRIDE events outside of August? Attend one of our fall monthly Bloomington PRIDE Community Workshops

Do you have experiences based around race, religion, sexual orientation, disability status, occupation, cultural background, age, gender orientation, ethnicity, social status, and/or lifestyle choices? Volunteer to be a “Human Book” at The Human Library™ event on Saturday, October 20. Participants become “Readers” during a 20-minute private chat with a volunteer.
