This book is about a young girl named May Amelia who is growing up in the wilderness of 1899 Washington dealing with life, death, and a lot of brothers. She has a lot of funny misadventures that make the book exciting. It is very interesting and well written. I definitely recommend this book for kids 9-13. Our Only May Amelia is a very good read!!

If you have a love for spy books, a demand for romance, and a thrill for drama, then this is a book worth reading. Follow Jaz Parks, assassin extraodinaire, as she hunts down a dangerous vampire with a past relationship with her new partner, who is also a vampire. When Jaz starts to feel an attraction towards her boss things become complicated as her last love and fiance was murdered by the very species she is now having feelings for. With Jaz having to fight tooth and nail (and sometimes with her trusted gun) to keep herself alive, how will she ever have time to be worried over a crush anyway?

Very interesting! Not at all what I thought it would be about by looking at it. Thought it would be a war story and I am not into those types of novels and was delighted to find it a mystery. It's hard to put down it's that good of a book. I highly recommend.

Zarek is the “baddest boy” hero that even the “regular” soulless bad boy Dark Hunters fear (book 4 in the series). His mortal life starts with his mother paying to have him killed as a newborn and betrayals get worse from there. His immortal life isn’t much cheerier. After 900 years of harsh solitary exile in frozen Alaska, he is slated for execution with one last chance: being judged by a Justice Nymph Astrid. Sister to the Greek Fates, Astrid is herself pretty jaded and has never found an accused to be innocent. In contrast to the earlier books in the series were there are clear enemies in the modern world, Zarek’s story plays out in large part in dreamscapes of his past and Astrid’s fantasies. Still there is plenty of action in battle and bedroom scenes. Being the “baddest” and most misunderstood of course means he is that much more enticing for readers of the series and the virginal Astrid. Hidden truths come out explaining lapses in Zarek’s memories and further the overarching series narrative between the Artemis and the first Dark Hunter, Acheron.

This book is the first book of an on going series. The main character is Mercedes "Mercy" Thompson who is a VW mechanic living in the Tri-Cities area of Washington. Her Native American lineage has gifted her with the ability to shift into a Coyote at will and is known as a "Walker" to the mystical community of werewolves, vampires, and fey. This book is well written and does not overwhelm the reader with explicit details of Mercy's romantic relationships like so many other fantasy books often do. Highly recommended for a fun and enjoyable read!

The second book in the "Night Watch" series, allows the female hunter Dee to shine. Physically the smallest of the hunter team, she makes up for her size with training and determination. Continuing the series theme, Dee becomes more powerful by letting go of past prejudices to embrace her current opportunities. The dynamic between Dee and her romantic interest Simon allows both to be dominant and tolerant in and out of the bedroom. This book is particularly strong reflecting on the theme of what it means to be "Other" and/or "Human" and how actions rather than essential categories determine good and evil. Series regulars will enjoy seeing past couples and foreshadowing of upcoming central characters.

Start with a generous portion of health-focused motivation, stir in plenty of quick/easy recipes, then finish with a pinch of environmental awareness and, voila! You’ve got this reasonable introduction to shifting yourself towards a mostly plant-based diet. I found this book informative yet easy to read with practical tips for increasing your veggie intake, and clear explanations of how and why doing so could lead to better health. While it provided a reasonable discussion of the philosophical benefits of going vegan, it steers clear of using scare tactics and won’t send the occasional omnivore on a gustatory guilt trip.
