Visiting us with your group or class is a great way to introduce children to the wide array of resources available to them for free through their local library. Use the form below to request time when a Children's Librarian can meet with your group and provide:

  • a special storytime
  • research instruction for your class or tips for using the library
  • information about books on a certain topic or genre

A group of teacher and staff can also request a special presentation on early literacy topics. Let us know what you need.  We would like to help. If you plan to bring a group of students to the library for independent study, and do not want formal instruction from a librarian, we still appreciate a courtesy call to prepare our staff for a group visit.

These visits are arranged on a first come, first served basis, and are subject to staff and room availability. Please provide at least two weeks' advance notice.  See our Planning Your Preschool Field Trip or Library Research Instruction: Information for Teachers to learn more about school visits. If you have further questions about this service, please call us at 812-349-3050.

(research instruction; storytime; instruction on early literacy topics for teachers, etc.)
Upon confirmation, we will ask you for each student's specific research topic, if known in advance of Library visit.
Thank you for using our online request form. When you click on "Submit", a Children's Librarian will receive your information and contact you within the next few days. If you have any immediate questions, please call Monroe County Public Library Children's Services at (812) 349-3050.
