The Mathers Museum of World Cultures offers research and training opportunities for IU students, educational support and services for IU faculty and elementary/ secondary school teachers, and family-friendly exhibits and programs. Admission to the museum and its programs is free. During normal hours of operation the Mathers Museum exhibition hall and Museum store are open Tuesday through Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

Free visitor parking is avaliable by the Indiana Avenue lobby entrance. Metered parking is available at the McCalla School Parking lot on the corner of Ninth Street and Indiana Avenue. The parking lot also has spaces designated for Indiana University C and E permits. During the weekends, free parking is avaliable on the surrounding streets.

The Indiana University New Music Ensemble dedicates its efforts to performing a broad spectrum of contemporary music, focusing on works from the past thirty years, but also presenting significant works from earlier in the 20thcentury. Led by Jacobs School of Music faculty coach Kimberly Carballo, and as a community partner in service learning for Indiana University students, ROK’s goal is two-fold: to introduce area children to opera through engaging first experiences as audience members, and to give developing professional musicians an opportunity to hone their performance skills. "Sounds of Indiana" is an a-cappella male Barbershop Chorus that sings and performs popular songs in the unique style called Barbershop, focusing on consonant four-part harmony. We meet Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Music classroom at Templeton Elementary School to enjoy the fellowship of creating music together and to prepare for numerous public performances during the year. The Sounds of Indiana chorus belongs to the Cardinal District of the national Barbershop Harmony Society. Visitors and new members are always welcome!
