ACUI Association of College Unions International

Description: 

ACUI (Association of College Unions International) was founded in the Midwestern United States by a group of students. Today, it has grown into the knowledge-based association for those students and professionals working in college unions and student activities throughout the world. The ACUI Central Office moved to Bloomington in 1981 and has maintained close ties with the local community and Indiana University ever since.

Bloomington Area Music (BAM)

Description: 

Bloomington Area Music provides support for the Bloomington, Indiana music community through advocacy, networking and education. Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (formerly INCOLSA)

Description: 

MCLS is a non-profit membership organization comprised of all types of libraries in Indiana and Michigan. MCLS provides libraries a convenient, single point of contact for training, group purchasing, and technical support for electronic resources. MCLS saves member libraries time and money.

National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Chapter 0580, Bloomington

Description: 

Chapter 0580 meets at the American Legion, 1800 W. Third on the second Wednesday of the month (except in August) at 1:30 PM.

NARFE is the National Active and Retired Employees Association. It is the only organization soley dedicated to protecting and preserving the pay and benefits of ALL federal workers and retirees.

NARFE has two primary objectives:
1. Your legislative voice. NARFE has in house influential lobbyists on Capitol Hill on behalf of the federal community
2. Your Information resource. NARFE provides clear information and trusted guidance on complex federal benefits issues.

The Indiana University Progressive Faculty and Staff Caucus represents more than a hundred faculty, staff, and postdoctoral members from the Bloomington campus of Indiana University. As educators, the members of the PFSC recognize a responsibility to foster informed and critical dialogue in our classrooms, on our campus, in our community, and in national and international forums.

Writers Guild at Bloomington

Description: 

The Writers Guild at Bloomington is an association of writers committed to mutual support and the professional development of their craft. Its mission is to foster interaction among writers as well as other artists, educators, and the Monroe County public, thereby enhancing the vibrancy of the arts and the writing community in the greater Bloomington area.

The Writers Guild holds monthly meetings, maintains a website, engages in projects, and produces and supports events such as reading series, workshops, and conferences.

Writers of all levels are welcomed, and if you are not a writer but would like to support poets, fiction writers and playwrights, we welcome you to visit our website and enjoy our events. Artists from other genres, and organizations, are welcomed to contact us about possible projects. We are open to creative interaction.

The Writers Guild was founded in October, 2010 and is a member of the Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington.
