MCPL Winter Food Drive

MCPL Winter Food Drive

Donations Accepted November 12–20

For tens of millions of people in America, a daily meal isn’t a choice between different dishes. It’s a choice between food and other crucial needs—like medicine, electricity, or childcare. Help fight hunger in Monroe County by donating to MCPL's Winter Food Drive. Non-perishable donations will be accepted at the Downtown Library and Ellettsville Branch from November 12–20. All donations will benefit the Hoosier Hills Food Bank community.

In 2021, Hoosier Hills Food Bank distributed over 5.6 million pounds of food, the equivalence of more than 19,000 meals, across eight counties in Indiana. The food bank is a nonprofit organization that relies heavily on donations to help meet the needs of those experiencing hunger in our community.

Waive Your Fees

Just as good as helping others, for every one item you donate, we'll forgive $1 of any fees you owe the Library. Simply bring your non-perishable donations to any customer assistance desk at the Downtown Library or Ellettsville Branch and request that your fees be waived. Please note that this program applies to any fees—we don't charge late fines
