Friends of the Library

 MCPL at night.

The only way to have a friend is to be one. —Ralph Waldo Emerson

Join the Friends and Monroe County Public Library in broadening our understanding of our world, our community, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. Let's join together as a community to read and discuss Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. We have a host of free community programs including book discussions, films, art talks & exhibits, learning opportunities, and much more as The Big Read continues through April 30, 2018. Make plans to attend our next Big Read event, A Shared Elegy. Dr. Nakagawa will discuss his work as one of the photographers for this exhibit at the Grunwald Gallery of Art, Noon to 1 pm, Friday, October 20. This exhibit compels us to reflect on our own lineage and consider our place in the cycle of life.

Dine Out for the Library

A Bloomington tradition, we welcome Mother Bear's Pizza as our Dine Out partner! Order a large pizza at either Mother Bear's location on Tuesday, October 17, 11 am to midnight. Mother Bear's will donate $5 to the Library for every large pizza you order when you bring your flyer! You need a separate flyer for each large pizza you order! Valid on dine-in, carry-out, and delivery. That award-winning pizza will taste even better knowing you’re contributing to a blue ribbon library for all in the community. Show your flyer available at library kiosks or print from our website.

Your dining out has brought in more nearly $12,000 for the Library! Thank you for enjoying all that great food.

You can make an extraordinary difference in our community. Your gift to the Campaign for Excellence contributes to a thriving, dynamic Monroe County. Your generosity will help the Library improve literacy, continue to innovate, spread the joy and power of reading, and reach out to people throughout the community. Your act of giving speaks loudly. Please join Jim and Jeanne Madison and donate today! Your contribution:friends_jeanne-and-jim-madison_2017c.jpg
