  • Friday–Saturday: 11 AM–6 PM
  • Sunday: Noon–4 PM

To reserve items, please place a hold through the Library's online catalog. You do not need to make a separate appointment for each item.

Pickup Instructions

The Library requires patrons to wear a face-covering while on the premises. Disposable masks are available at all locations for patrons who do not have one, and free reusable masks from the Bloomington Mask Drive are available at the Main Library. Please observe social distancing guidelines, keeping a minimum of six feet between yourself and others. If someone is in the vestibule when you arrive, please wait until they leave before entering. View all COVID-19 safeguards.

Customers should report to their selected location's parking lot entrance at their designated time, entering the first set of doors off of the parking lot. Material pickup will take place in the vestibule, which will be open to curbside pickup by appointment customers only. The Library itself will remain closed.

There will be fifteen appointments per 30-minute time slot. Items will be tagged and in a recyclable bag that does not need to be returned to the Library. Please take only your materials. Do not touch other materials. If you have questions or concerns or have missed your pickup time, please call (812) 349-3050 to discuss and/or reschedule. For the safety of all, staff will not interact with customers onsite.

Library materials will be quarantined for four days after being returned, therefore, items will take longer to become available. Due to material quarantines, you may receive overdue notices after returning your items. Please disregard––the Library does not charge late fines.

The Bookmobile has resumed its regularly scheduled routes. Please request your items through the online catalog or by calling (812) 349-3050 during the phone hours listed above. Given the limited space inside the Bookmobile, visitors will need to remain outside and will not be able to browse the collections. Wednesday morning stops have moved to a biweekly outreach van delivery service for facility residents only. View further details and routes.
