The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce and many collaborators in the community have gathered an extensive database of resources to help Monroe County individuals and businesses navigate the effects of COVID-19. This includes guidance for businesses, legal resources, economic information, health department recommendations, and more. Search the database here.

Indiana 2-1-1

For Hoosiers in need of help accessing local resources in Monroe County, Indiana 2-1-1 has a team of Community Navigators available to provide expert referrals to services in our community. 2-1-1 Community Navigators are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist residents seeking a variety of resources such as food and clothing, mental health and addiction services, healthcare, housing and utility assistance, education and employment, parenting support, tax assistance, and more. Resources for Survivors of Violence

The Library is committed to being a supportive voice for survivors of violence in Monroe County. As many predict an influx of family violence during the pandemic, Middle Way House remains open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is offering a new web chat resource to assist survivors without telephone access. Resources for Teens

While the physical libraries are closed, your virtual teen space is waiting for you on Discord! Join the Library for all your teen space fun, Monday–Thursday from 3–5 PM! To join you must be between the ages of 13–19 and live in Monroe County. This list of resources is a good starting point to help teens through this unique time. 

Free WiFi Access

The Main Library and Ellettsville Branch parking lots are available for free, 24-hour, high-speed WiFi access. Ellettsville's WiFi coverage was extended into the parking lot with a stronger signal on May 8. Main's WiFi coverage was further upgraded in the parking lot and courtyard on July 1.

Indiana University is offering free, 24-hour, high-speed WiFi access in the orange parking lot between Memorial Stadium and Assembly Hall.

Smithville is also offering WiFi hotspots at Marci Jane Lewis Park (106 S. Park Street, Ellettsville, in the parking lot between the shelter house and basketball courts), and at Monroe County Fairgrounds (5700 W. Airport Road, Bloomington, near the 4-H Building).

Community Access Television Services

Want to stay informed? The Library’s television station, Community Access Television Services, telecasts five cable channels in Monroe County and provides live and archived coverage of councils, boards, and commissions, including the Mayor's weekly COVID-19 community press conference. Find a full lineup.
