The Downtown Library, Ellettsville Branch, and Southwest Branch are the perfect settings for your club, organization or business meeting, performance, art exhibit, or study session. All spaces are free of charge—with the exception of businesses—and are available during Library open hours. The use of Library spaces must benefit the residents of Monroe County. Businesses operating in Monroe County may reserve meeting rooms for a fee established by the Board of Trustees in the annual fee schedule. Individuals may book study rooms, conference rooms, and studio spaces, as well as request a gallery space for art and exhibits. Groups and businesses may book meeting room spaces, the Teaching Kitchen, and gallery spaces.  A library card is required for all studio and Teaching Kitchen reservations. All reservations must adhere to the reservable spaces policy and align with the Library's behavioral rules policy.

Meeting Room Spaces

Meeting rooms at the Downtown Library, Ellettsville Branch, and Southwest Branch hold 10–144 people, and most feature table and chair seating, projectors with screens, and whiteboards. The Downtown Library’s accessible auditorium offers fixed theater seating for 144, including a stage, stage lights, a projector with screen, DVD player, lectern, microphone options, and a piano and electronic keyboard. Additionally, a Meeting Owl Pro 360-degree camera is available for hosting hybrid meetings. This easy-to-use device combines a camera, mic, and speaker, creating the experience of in-person participation for hybrid meetings.

If you would like to show a movie or TV show in a Library space, you must have public performance rights. You can show any title listed on the Swank Movie Licensing website through the Library's subscription. For additional information, please read the Swank Movie Licensing FAQ.

For performances of any kind, including practices, we recommend using the auditorium space at the Downtown Library whenever possible, as other spaces may not be as conducive to such activities.

Meeting room space can be reserved a week to 90 days in advance.
