Making an Appointment

To request a time slot, please call (812) 349-3050 or use the chat reference service. Staff will work with you to schedule your appointment for the next available day. Appointments are up to 90 minutes long and can be made once a week.

  • Monday–Thursday: 11 AM–7 PM
  • Friday–Saturday: 1–5 PM
  • Sunday: 2–4 PM

Those with appointments should report to the Main Library Kirkwood Avenue entrance at your designated time. A staff member will check you in and someone will escort you to a designated computer in Meeting Room 1B/C. Pathways from the entrance to the designated computers will be marked. Pathways to restrooms will be marked as well.

Computer assistance will be performed by staff using mirrored monitors from a safe distance (approximately 6–10 feet). The Library requires patrons and staff to wear a face-covering while on the premises. Disposable masks are available at all locations for patrons who do not have one, and free reusable masks from the Bloomington Mask Drive are available at the Main Library. Please observe social distancing guidelines, keeping a minimum of six feet between yourself and others. View all COVID-19 safeguards.

Computer keyboards and mice will be covered in plastic skins which you will dispose of at the end of your session. You will also wipe down surfaces at the end of your session. Host staff will escort you out.

Walk-up patrons can make an appointment through the glass at the Kirkwood Avenue entrance for the next available slot.
