Book Title:
Auggie & Me: Three WONDER Stories
Author:
R.J. Palacio
Why did you decide to read this book? Did a friend suggest it? Did it have an interesting cover?:
I decided to read this book because my teacher read Wonder, the first book in the "series", and I LOVED it.
What is the story about?/What happened in the story?:
In AUGGIE & ME, the book is divided into 3 parts. In the first part, Julian tells his backstage story. This first section is titled "The Julian Chapter". Julian is a boy who doesn't treat a boy named August, who has an unusual face, fairly, in WONDER. He leaves mean notes, etc. Then Julian goes to France to visit his Grandma. In the 2nd part, Auggie's best friend Christopher starts telling his story. His mom got in a freak car accident because he forgot some of his school stuff, so she had to drive home, then back to the school again. In the last part, Charlotte, a girl from Auggie's school, tells her story. She joined Dance class, and made new friends with a girl named Ximena, who is Spanish and from the "popular" group at school. Overall, I think this was a very good book!
Who is your favorite character in the story? Why?:
My favorite is Charlotte, because I love dancing. She's also my favorite because she makes new friends from the "popular" group of girls at her school.
Why did you like this story? or Why did you not like this story?:
I liked this book because it shows we are all the same, no matter what we look like or what we do.
Other thoughts or feelings about this story? Anything else to add?:
I would recommend this book to all the Wonder fans!!
