I chose to read this book because I had heard about it on YouTube and I thought it looked interesting. I also had a friend who read it before me and she highly recommended it. It does have a pretty interesting cover.
What is the story about?/What happened in the story?:
The story follows a girl named Rowan who is a second child. In this time, second children are forbidden. She has never been outside her house before. If she is found she may be persecuted. If she's lucky, imprisoned for life. Eventually Rowan had enough of being alone all day everyday. One night she sneaks out and this mistake sparks up a flame. Everything goes way out of plan for her and she has to do what she can to survive.
Who is your favorite character in the story? Why?:
My favorite character is Lark because she is very kind and knowledgeable.
Why did you like this story? or Why did you not like this story?:
I like this story because its very interesting and expressive. When you start reading its hard to stop yourself.
