The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise
Dan Gemeinhart
Story Summary:
Coyote Sunrise and her dad, Rodeo Sunrise, have been living on the street for five years, trying to forget the day five years ago when Coyote lost her mother and two sisters in a car crash. But when Coyote hears that the park (where her mom and two sisters buried a memory box so they could open it ten years later to remember all the memories) near her old home is being destroyed by bulldozers, she makes a plan to get Rodeo to drive 3,600 miles back to the park and retrieve the memory box without him knowing it. While they're driving, Coyote meets several friends that are willing to help her, including Salvador, a Spanish boy, Val, a funny pre-adult, and some loyal animals. Coyote knows that the memory box is the only thing left of her mother and sisters, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to get back to the box. Will Coyote get back to the box safe and sound, or will the box already be demolished?
Write Your Review:
I read this book because the book cover had a pretty gray tabby cat that belongs to Coyote, and also because they were sitting on a school bus. I think that everyone should read this book because it is a great story about friendship, family, determination, and love.
