What are “makers,” exactly? Literally anyone who makes something! Tinkerers, inventors, programmers, artists, designers, scientists, and many other creators make up this diverse, DIY-spirited group. And there will be quite a few of them at this year’s Makevention, 10am-4pm on Saturday, August 26th,at the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center.

The Library's Got Things!

Have you heard about Libraries of Things? From cooking appliances to musical instruments—and even to plant seeds and laptops—libraries around the world are lending all kinds of different items beyond traditional collections of books, movies, and music. If people want it, the philosophy seems to be, libraries should lend it.

We're no exception, of course—Monroe County Public Library has our own awesome collection of "things" for checkout. Borrow these on your next visit.
