It was part of our homeschool curriculum.

It's about a boy named Billy who gets two red-boned coon hounds, and establishes a deep and unique relationship with them.

One of Billy's dogs, Little Ann. I like her because she is loving, smart, and has an unusual love with her brother, Old Dan that just seems really touching.

I liked it because it was exciting, touching, beautiful, depressing, descriptive, and liked the way the author made the story sound a lot too. It definitely made me feel curious about what comes next a lot.
