Why did you decide to read this book? Did a friend suggest it? Did it have an interesting cover?:
I stumbled upon this book in the classics sections of the library. I decided to read it because I knew that the book was very popular and a must-read. By the way this book is an abridged and illustrated version by DK Eyewitness Classics.
What is the story about?/What happened in the story?:
Jonathan Harker is a businessman, travelling to Transylvania to discuss business matters with Count Dracula. The minute he gets there, Harker knows that Count Dracula isn't.... ordinary. The Count lives in a castle, doesn't join his guest during meal time, and is never there during the day. Soon Harker discovers that he isn't human at all! When Harker's story is exposed and other people also get affected by Count Dracula's mischiefs, a group of people get together and decide to kill him!
Why did you like this story? or Why did you not like this story?:
I liked this novel very much. I thought the way the story was narrated, through a diary format, made the story easy to understand and easier to follow. It brought me closer to the characters. The plot was also quite creative.
Other thoughts or feelings about this story? Anything else to add?:
I think if you like historical fiction and horror stoires, you will love this book.
