Story Summary:
Gladys is a 11 year old girl who loves cooking. Her parents however, do not. Gladys cooked in secret until a small kitchen incident. Gladys seems to be out of luck until her teacher mentions an essay contest for the New York Standard. This could be a huge oppurtunity for Gladys and her cooking dreams. The question is, will she be able to do it?

I really liked this book and I think it is a good book for 9-12 year olds. It's not very thrilling so I would say it's more of a comfort read. It is a series with 2 other books which I have read both, too. It was not the most incredible book I ever read but it was certainly a good one. I have read this book twice so really did enjoy it. I think overall it is a good book and would reccomend it.
