Due to the impact of COVID-19, we have very limited opportunities at this time. For many of the volunteers that were volunteering pre-pandemic, we look forward to a time in the future when we can welcome you back. As our services continue to evolve, we will review when and how to bring volunteers back onsite. Thank you for your service and patience.
We are fortunate to have volunteers who contribute their time, talent, and energy to a variety of long-term and short-term commitments. Opportunities range from volunteering in the children’s and teen spaces, digital creativity center, and the Friends of the Library Bookstore, to tutoring adult learners, to the maintenance of the collection, and much more.
We are placing a very limited amount of volunteers at this time. If you choose to fill out a volunteer application, please note that it may be held until we are able to accommodate your request. Thank you for your understanding. As opportunities arise that match your interests and availability, someone will contact you. If you have questions about volunteering, please call the Library’s Volunteer Coordinator, Loraine Martin, at 812-349-3060 or email lmartin [at] mcpl.info (subject: Volunteering%20at%20the%20Library) .
