The purpose of the MCRTA is to:

1. improve the status of all retired teachers and administrators

2. help retired educators maintain identity with the profession through volunteer services

3. serve as an instrument through which retirees may lend moral support to their local schools

4. promote fellowship among retired administrators and teachers

5. encourage active educators to prepare for retirement

6. cooperate with IRTA in promoting the welfare of retired Indiana educators.
