About the Library
Request a Library Tour
Our librarians can offer tours of our spaces, visits for a storytime, research instruction, and more.
The Library offers opportunities to read, learn, connect, and create, providing a variety of services at no charge. Anyone is welcome to visit to browse materials, use public computers, attend free programs, and enjoy our spaces.
Additionally, a free library card allows Monroe County residents to:
- Borrow physical materials, such as books, audiobooks, playaways, DVDs, video games, CDs, magazines, toys, zines, book club kits, and items from our Library of Things!
- Use the eLibrary to access eBooks, music, audiobooks, movies & TV, magazines & newspapers, learning opportunities, DIY, curated research materials, local & family history, and much more
- Reserve spaces, such as meeting rooms, study rooms, video and audio production studios, the auditorium, and art exhibit spaces
Our locations include the Downtown Library in Bloomington, a newly opened branch on Bloomington's south side, and a branch in Ellettsville, alongside extensive outreach services.
