We are temporarily pausing new reservations for the next several weeks as we transition to our new booking and calendar platform. This new platform will be a great improvement, and we look forward to taking reservations again soon. Currently approved reservations will still be honored; please check our calendar. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The Downtown Library, Ellettsville Branch, and Southwest Branch are the perfect settings for your club, organization or business meeting, performance, art exhibit, or study session. Their central locations make them ideal for businesses and book lovers alike.

Meeting Room Spaces

Meeting rooms at the Downtown Library, Ellettsville Branch, and Southwest Branch hold 10–144 people, and most feature table and chair seating, projectors with screens, and whiteboards. The Downtown Library’s accessible auditorium offers fixed theater seating for 144, including a stage, stage lights, a projector with screen, DVD player, lectern, microphone options, and a piano and electronic keyboard. Additionally, a Meeting Owl Pro 360-degree camera is available for hosting hybrid meetings. This easy-to-use device combines a camera, mic, and speaker, creating the experience of in-person participation for hybrid meetings. To reserve the Meeting Owl Pro with your space, please email meetingrooms [at] mcpl.info or call 812-349-3050, ext. 1000.

If you would like to show a movie or TV show in a Library space, you must have public performance rights. You can show any title listed on the Swank Movie Licensing website through the Library's subscription. For additional information, please read the Swank Movie Licensing FAQ.

For performances of any kind, including practices, we recommend using the auditorium space at the Downtown Library whenever possible, as other spaces may not be as conducive to such activities. Reservations for all spaces must align with the Library's behavioral rules policy.

Meeting room space is available free of charge during open library hours to all Monroe County organizations and local units of government. Spaces are also available to local businesses for a fee. To reserve space, you must have a library card and be at least 18 years old. You may reserve a space via phone call or email if you do not have a library card, but only if your reservation concerns or is on behalf of Monroe County residents. Please read the full reservable spaces policy for details.

Meeting room space can be reserved a week to 90 days in advance. Study rooms and Level Up Studios may be reserved up to one week in advance.
