National Poetry Month Contest

In honor of National Poetry Month (April), MCPL is hosting a poetry writing contest! Submissions must be an original work.

Contest Rules:

• Participants must have a current MCPL library card.
• Poems must center around the theme of an "imagined future."
• Entries must be submitted by the deadline of April 20.
• Only one entry per email address.
• Contestants must be age 18 or up.
• Entries may not be more than 20 lines long.
• Submissions that violate privacy, promote illegal activity, or incite violence will be disqualified.

Prizes:

• First place: $50  
• Second place: $30
• Third place: $20

• Lisa Kwong — local poet, writer, and educator
