There are many different ways a pitch can be good. Creativity is key, but here are some other suggestions we've heard over the years from members of the media:
- Make your pitch a story, including an introduction, goals, added value, and a hook.
- Say who you are and what you do; explain how you do it and what the results are.
- Having a captivating main character helps.
- Events that work for some forms of media might not work for others.
- Make it compelling—an effective pitch explains the problem your solution solves.
- It should be clear, memorable, succinct, credible, and focused.
