Local Resources
All Options Pregnancy Support
All Options uses direct service and social change strategies to promote unconditional, judgment-free support for people in all of their decisions, feelings, and experiences with pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption. Services include Talkline and necessity resources such as diapers, clothes, counseling, etc. 812-558-0089
Monroe Smart Start
A leadership initiative of the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County, Monroe Smart Start works on behalf of our community’s youngest learners. Banneker Community Center
The Family Resource Center is a place where families can gather information, network with others, build a support system, and enjoy their children in a fun, safe space. 812-349-3735
Bloomington Community and Family Resource Center
The Community and Family Resources Department is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Bloomington through programs and services designed to engage residents in service and encourage active participation in government; connecting community members to resources; encouraging collaborations among area non-profits, businesses, organizations and agencies; and celebrating Bloomington's unique and diverse history, character and people. 812-349-3430
Healthy Families Indiana
Healthy Families Indiana (HFI) is a voluntary evidence-based home visitation program that is designed to promote healthy families and healthy children through a variety of services including child development, access to health care, and parent education. 812-332-1245
Indiana Women’s, Infant, and Children Program (WIC)
WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) is a nutrition program, nationally recognized as an effective means for improving access to nutritious foods and promoting healthier eating and lifestyles. 812-353-3221
IU Health Childbirth Education
IU Health offers classes (many with a fee), but also provides some free support such as the Postpartum Support Group. 812-353-4791
Middle Way House
Middle Way House provides empowering services such as emergency shelter; a 24-hour help and crisis line; on-scene advocacy; support services; and transitional and permanent housing solutions to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Monroe County United Ministries (MCUM)
MCUM offers coaching and resource assistance to families and individuals of the Monroe County community who are experiencing hardship. Their program serves to make sure that these crises don’t have to leave families hungry, cold, or faced with utility shut-off or eviction. 812-339-3429
New Hope for Families
New Hope for Families is the only family emergency housing recovery agency for whole families that serves primarily Monroe County. 812-334-9840
Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood is one of the nation’s leading providers of high quality, affordable health care, and the nation’s largest provider of sex education. 812-336-0219
Shalom Community Center
The Shalom Center is an all-inclusive resource center in Monroe County for people who are living in poverty and experiencing its ultimate expressions: hunger, homelessness, and a lack of access to basic life necessities. 812-334-5728

Maternal and Child Health MOMS Helpline
The MOMS Helpline is committed to improving pregnant women’s access to early and regular prenatal care and connecting them with a network of prenatal and child health care services within their local communities, state agencies and other organizations around Indiana. 844-624-6667
Nurse Family Partnership (NFP)
A community health program that helps transform the lives of vulnerable mothers pregnant with their first child. Each mother served by NFP is partnered with a registered nurse early in her pregnancy and receives ongoing nurse home visits that continue through her child’s second birthday. 844-637-6667
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Provides food assistance to low and no income people and families living in the United States. This program is designed to raise the nutritional level of low income households. It enables low-income families to buy nutritious food through Electronic Benefits Transfer cards. 800-403-0864
