Inspired by the recently formed 100+ Women Who Care of Bloomington, a group of local men have joined forces recently to form “50+ Men Who Care".

Similar to the women, our mission is simple: Bring together 50+ men in the Monroe County area who care about local community causes and are committed to community service.

Four times a year, we will meet for an hour and jointly vote for a local charity or not-for-profit organization (three will be nominated ahead of time).  Each man agrees write a $125 check to the selected organization and watches how the group’s commitment turns into a $5,000 or more donation.

We plan to do this four times a year and witness how this monetary contribution can improve the lives of our neighbors when placed in the hands of deserving grassroots agencies working to serve the local community.

Lions Club International is a worldwide organization with clubs in over 200 countries, including China and Iraq. The Bloomington Lions extend our service beyond city, state, and even national borders to programs and institutions. We support educational, health, and community initiatives in our area and welcome new members on a regular basis.

Rotary is more than a service organization that's making a difference in your community. The difference we make starts with our members.

Giving Back to Africa (GBA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the long-term mission of educating young people in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). In partnership with local Congolese educational institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), our goal is to empower GBA beneficiaries - through service-centered education - to become servant-leaders capable of taking control of their own lives while serving as change agents in their local communities and throughout the nation.

Helping Hands is an initiative launched by the Civic Champs Foundation. Our mission is to help everyone in our community live safely and comfortably by facilitating the connection between neighbors.

The COVID-19 pandemic will have lasting medical and economic impact. Helping Hands is an opportunity to come together as a community and provide relief where it is needed. Initially, our focus will be on older adults as they face the highest risk of severe adverse effects. Our strategy is simple. We believe that small acts of kindness will go a long way. Meaning, starting today is as easy as picking up and delivering groceries.

Civic Champs is a Bloomington-based social enterprise and startup that provides volunteer management software for nonprofit organizations. The members of our team have worked in management consulting, education, software development, and more, but we share one thing in common: we are passionate about the Bloomington community. We are in the process of developing a Helping Hands app that will be offered for free to the entire community.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

We meet on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month at the Monroe County Public Library in Bloomington.

The Nonprofit Alliance is a collaboration among nonprofit organizations in and around Monroe County. Its mission is to enrich the local community by strengthening the nonprofit sector through communication, collaboration, professional development and outreach.
