The 2021 Summer Reading Games have ended. Please look for 2022 information in early spring!

Read for fun, complete activities, and earn tickets towards prize drawings! Our summer reading games are a fun and free way to engage teens ages 12–19 in exploring new ideas, books, and activities.

Between June 1 and August 1, 2021 you can register on Beanstack and play online. As you read and try different activities, you'll become eligible to earn badges and prizes. Games are available for children and adults too. See the Beanstack FAQ for more details.



Readers participating in the 2021 Teen Summer Reading Game earn a paperback book after achieving 30 points, and chances to win a raffle drawing prize:

  • Nintendo Switch
  • a Wacom drawing tablet
  • a 3-month subscription box (to OwlCrate, Loot Crate, or Brick Loot)
  • $50 gift card to both The Common Room and The Game Preserve, including a set of board games


1,000,000-Minute Reading Goal

There will be a community-wide reading goal of 1,000,000 minutes, resulting in a $1,000 donation from the Friends of the Library to Monroe County Humane Association.
