La Leche League

Description: 

The mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother.

Evening Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month (no evening meeting in January and July) at 7:00 p.m., at Bloomington Area Birth Services, 2458 South Walnut Street (NW corner of Walnut & Country Club/Winslow).

Morning meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. at the First United Church, Room #1, 2420 East Third Street (SW corner of E. 3rd St. & S. Woodcrest Ave.)

Mobility Aids Lending Library (MALL)

Description: 

The Mobility Aids Lending Library (MALL) is an initiative started by a local group of women with physical disabilities (aka "the Wheelie Women") to serve the greater Bloomington community.  The MALL program matches "gently used" mobility devices free of charge to those who cannot afford them or only need them for a short period of time.  Items may include: canes, crutches, walkers, rollators, and wheelchairs (both manual and powered).

 

Monroe County Public Library is providing free used canes, crutches, walkers and rollators to the public for checkout during regular library hours. Other mobility aids, such as wheelchairs and powered devices, may be available from other MALL partners. Learn more about this Library service.
