Monroe County Public Library (MCPL) offers several free and low-cost opportunities to reserve meeting rooms, art exhibit and display space, study rooms, and digital creativity video and audio production studios.
Meeting Room Spaces
The Main Library is the perfect setting for your performance, celebration, or business meeting. Its central location in the heart of downtown Bloomington makes it an ideal venue for businesses and book lovers alike. Fall 2018’s Ellettsville Branch renovation will extend new options to the Ellettsville community.
The Main Library’s tasteful and accessible auditorium offers fixed theater seating for 144, including a stage, stage lights, projector with screen, DVD player, lectern, microphone options, and a piano and electronic keyboard. Most additional meeting rooms, which seat 10–144, feature table and chair seating, projectors with screens, and dry erase boards.
Meeting room space is available free of charge during library hours to all Monroe County organizations and local units of government. Some rooms at the Main Library are also available to local businesses for a fee. To reserve space, you must have a Library card and be at least 18 years old. Please read our full meeting room policy.

Art Exhibit and Display Space at the Main Library
A corridor art exhibit and display space on the first floor of the Main Library is available free of charge to individuals and community nonprofit groups. To reserve the space, you must have a Library card and be at least 18 years old. The library welcomes donations from artists for works sold as a result of being on exhibit at the Library, but direct sale of works is not permitted on Library property. Production Studio Spaces
Video and audio production studios are available free of charge to individuals of all ages with a Library card. They may be reserved for up to two hours, as early as 24 hours in advance. Please read our full production studio space policy.
The Library’s all-ages video production studio includes a green screen, green screen suit, various cameras, professional-grade tripods, microphones, channel mixer, teleprompter, and studio lights.
Two all-ages audio production studios include professional headphones, iMacs with professional software, Focusrite interfaces, condenser mics, a keyboard controller, digital piano, dynamic mics, and various guitars. Study rooms are located in both the Main and Ellettsville Branch libraries and are available for individual and small group use. Each study room features a table and chairs; dry erase board and markers; and Wi-Fi access. Reserve a study room.
